The Sony ECM 77 is the broadcast industry standard lapel microphone, offering a good balance of omnidirectional (all-around) pick-up and good sensitivity.
Very similar to the Sony offering, although maybe with a brighter, less bass-heavy sound.
We have a selection of lapel microphones with mini-jack plugs, with omni or directional pick-up. They are all more than good enough for lecture and conference work.
The Sennheiser MKH 416 is a premium short gun interference tube microphone. The excellent directivity and a compact design are ideal qualities for universal use in film, radio and television, especially for outdoor broadcast applications. It has a switchable bass cut filter. A very popular microphone.
The AKG C 568 B has high directivity and a wide frequency response, making it a perfect tool for theatre, sound reinforcement, and film/TV applications. Below 500 Hz, it functions as a hypercardioid microphone; above 500 Hz, the acoustic interference tube introduces increasing directivity. A bass cut filter effectively suppresses rumble and wind noise.
The C1000 S multi-purpose small-diaphragm condenser microphone is extremely popular for its versatility. It features a bass-cut switch and a switchable -10 db pad. Three different frequency settings can add more clarity to speech and instrument sounds. The polar pattern can quickly be switched from cardioid to hyper-cardioid.
The T-Bone EM 9600 directional condenser shotgun is suitable for video, voice, and choir recording. It has a switchable pick-up pattern. Although it is a budget microphone, it produces very good results.

The ECM-MS957 single-point stereo microphone is ideally suited for recording live concerts, conferences, and interviews. A mid/Side (MS) switch selects the pickup angle between the left and right channels. Choose 90° for a single voice or instrument, or 120° to pick up many voices and instruments arranged across the stage. A rotating mid capsule allows the user to adjust the stereo pickup pattern for the widest range of recording situations.
Fitted with a stereo mini-jack plug.
The V7 is a super-cardioid model designed for live use. This is a top-rated, robust, dynamic microphone.
It can plug into a radio module and this can be a very good alternative to cable.

The Sennheiser XS wireless 1 kit is easy to use. It comes with a base receiver and two hand-held wireless E825s microphones. These cardioid dynamic microphones are for vocals and speech and work well when singers spontaneously change the pick-up angle and move further away from the capsule, which happens – often.
Sony wireless set. The package includes the UTX-B03 belt-pack transmitter and URX-P03 portable receiver. Also included is an omni-directional lavalier microphone. The Sony UTX-P40 Plug-On Transmitter can be supplied as an alternative.
