Elevate events with premium lighting solutions tailored to your unique needs.
There are two reasons for thinking about artificial lighting:
First, so you see the image when the sun and moon have gone to sleep.
Second, when you want to make an artistic statement.
The sensitivity and dynamic range of modern cameras can encourage sloppy or no artistic thought along with a vague idea that it can all be sorted out in the edit. I’m sure none of that applies to you. The wise use of lighting can make a real difference to the project. It can add to complexity when setting up and can unsettle some of your subjects – even professionals. Learn how to manage these situations – you may have already had the pleasure of seeing a real expert quietly and apparently effortlessly directing. Anyway, back to lighting itself. You don’t need a lorry load and generator for 99% of your work.
We offer lighting resources for everyday shoots. This includes conventional and LED. Each has it’s own uses.
LEDs are cooler (heat-wise and burn risk) and can run off batteries. So can be safer in uncontrolled public environments. There are problems with LEDs related to the way they produce a balanced white light and potential problems with flicker. Some people complain that the light seems harsh and un-natural. A lot of this is to do with the frequency spectrum of LED illumination.
Incandescent lighting can be more powerful and the full-spectrum lighting seem more natural. This is especially so with skin tones. However, they do get hot and there are associated risks. It is absolutely essential that they have safety glass in place.
These are small 300w incandescent lights. They come with various filters and can be focused. More than enough for interviews.
You can focus these. They give out a decent amount of incandescent light. You won’t overload a domestic electrical supply.
A full spectrum, flicker-free incandescent light is what you get from this PAG light. It comes with a selection of battery optons. There is a flick down daylight filter and it is powerful enough to use as a fill-in outside.
There are two panels in this kit. It comes with mains PSU and batteries. They provide a soft light with variable brightness and colour temperature adjustment.
