Tape drives are designed to provide safety back-ups of any digital material. It is not quite as plug and play as it should be but we will show you how to use it or you can use it on site with one of our computers.
This little gizmo is very easy to use. You plug the SDI cable from the recorder into one end and the USB or Thunderbolt cable into the other end and then to your computer. Download the software and then simply ingest your video.
Plays back standard 8mm film with a mono audio track. In my opinion you will not find a better option for visual or audio fidelity.
Film comes on reels and there will be perforations on one or both sides or in the middle. Unwind it and you will see lots of little images. The best way to watch them is in a dark room with the image projected onto a screen. A magical experience.
Some films have audio recorded onto a magnetic stripe on one or both edges of the film. Commercially distributed films usually have an optical sound recording on the edge of the film.
Projectors that work properly are quite hard to find.
This projector will show standard 8mm film and super 8mm film. It will also play films with mono audio.
Because of the transport mechanism design I would only recommend using it with undamaged film.
This is a good option for Super 8mm film playback and has a twin track audio playback facility.
Plays back 16mm film at 16fps and 24fps. It is a rare machine because it can also play back film with a magnetic audio track.
